His peripherals are excellent, with an aforementioned 3.67 xFIP, a 8.01 K/9 and 1.64 BB/9. Now we do have to be careful, a player who is a ground ball pitcher who's ground ball % is 6% below his career average has to be concerning, but there are worse places to mitigate that as opposed to Los Angeles.
Guy with 3.67 xFIP moving to Dodger Stadium could bode quite well for Haren. Playing a ton of games in the NL West is going to make his ERA closer to that mid 3.00 number as opposed to the mid 4.00 ERA that you got last season. He's a good bet for value. Also if we're assuming that wins in terms of WAR cost 7 million per win, a contract like 1 year 10 million could be a bargain. Especially if we're looking at his projected 3.0 WAR next season.
So I'd like a signing, he'd be one of the better #5 starters in the entire league, especially with the potential Tanaka signing, it could be one of the best rotations in the league.
